ORANGE FRENCH TOAST
  Ingredients (serves 4 - 6)
Egg 4 nos.
Fresh Milk 120ml
Orange juice 120ml
Rind of orange 1 teaspoon
Unrefined caster sugar 2 teaspoons
*Orange swirl bread 6 - 8 slices (2cm thick)
Butter or olive oil 5 - 6 tablespoons
   

 Method

  1. Whisk egg, orange juice, milk, orange rind and sugar together to combine.

  2. Soak bread in the egg mixture for 1 minute, turning the slices at least once over.

  3. Heat up butter/oil in a large frying pan over medium heat.

  4. When butter is sizzling, place the egg soaked bread slices in the pan. Cook on one side until golden brown. Turn and cook until the other side is golden brown. Repeat with remaining slices.

  5. Serve immediately with maple syrup or yoghurt.

*This bread is our bakery specialty and is baked fresh daily, available in all Cedele outlets and Bakery Depot. Can be substituted with raisin brioche, orange cranberry loaf or fruity loaf.
